Your Cat's Plea

I am a pet

Though I love to play

I am not a toy.

I need to rest, I need to eat

I need good clean water to drink.

I need toys and lots of love!

I have feelings, I get sad, I feel pain.

I get afraid, I feel alone.

I get cold and hot just like you.

But I can only talk with a meow or two.

I need to be altered so I don't spray

And make awful noises.

I'll stay home better

And the world won't be burdened with more

Unwanted litters.

I want and need a clean box to use

You don't like stink, well my nose is one hundred

Times more acute than yours!

You hate fleas, so do I.

So keep me inside, I'll live longer and you won't have to worry

About fleas, mites, worms or accidents.

If I ask to go out, remember you are the adult.

Keep me safe and you'll have a friend for life.
